About The Writer
My name is Ethan Stella-Mackie, I was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on January 18th, 2003. I was born to a pair of young parents at only twenty years old. My mom is my role model, she truly made me the person I am today and I can not be any more proud of her. She has truly worked her hardest to make sure we were always in a good situation. I was born while she was in college, but she persevered and finished her degree and established herself in the working world. She is one of the strongest people I'll ever know in my lifetime.

I spent the first ten years of my life living in Massachusetts with my mom. She was a leasing agent for apartment complexes so we found ourselves moving wherever she worked. This was definitely difficult for younger me. It was hard to make and keep friends moving so often. Often times we were just getting settled when a better job opportunity appeared somewhere else. It was tough to pick everything up and move, but is was always in our best interest for the future. We ended up moving around six times by the time I was ten years old
It wasn't until I moved to Connecticut in 2013 that we really settled down. My mom got a really great job offer that brought us here in the first place. She bought our first house and I was ecstatic to have more space and a yard. I had been living in an apartment my whole life, it was tough having friends over because there wasn't enough space. I like living in my little town Oxford, It's nice having a small town feel. Eight years later and it feels like we've lived here forever. I've gone through most of elementary school, and all of middle and high school here. I really consider Oxford my home town now. I graduated from Oxford High School this past year with aspirations for higher education.
More recently, I'm about to finish up my first semester at Uconn. It's been a long time in the making, but i'm finally here. Going to Storrs has been a goal for a long time and my opportunity has finally come. I was accepted to Uconn Storrs under the condition I go to a branch campus for one semester which is how I ended up in Waterbury. I'm elated to move to Storrs this coming semester, I can't wait to take on my next adventure.
